Cyber Rapid Response Team deployed in support of Moldova
On 31st May 2024, the CRRT has finished its already 2nd mission in support of Moldova (the 1st mission was carried out in November 2022), after receiving a Request for Support (RfS) from the Information Technology and Cyber Security Service (STISC) and Ministry of Defence of Moldova (MD MoD) at the end of March 2024.
In connection with the activation, CRRT experts from 6 participating Member States (Belgium, the Netherlands, Croatia, Romania, Poland and Lithuania) were also deployed to Legionowo, Poland, where during the workshop, organised by Cyber Command of the Polish Armed Forces, they got acquainted with different service vulnerabilities (including cyber espionage) of a particular service provider, and how to counter them.
CRRT experts, using the tools developed by the Cyber Command of the Polish Armed Forces, performed a remote analysis of the Moldova’s governmental infrastructure, identified certain vulnerabilities and provided Moldova with a detailed After Action Report, which includes recommendations for improvement.
CRRT remains committed to building up cyber resilience of the Eastern Partnership countries, such as Moldova, and is always open for a close cooperation in carrying our preventive measures as well as helping to respond to any possible cyber incidents.
