Italy joins PESCO Cyber Rapid Response Teams

On 19 November, 2024, PESCO Cyber Rapid Response Teams (CRRT) proudly welcomes Italy as the 12th EU Member State to join the CRRT Capability.

On this day, Defence Minister of the Italian Republic, Rt. Hon. Guido Crosetto, during the meeting with the Lithuanian Minister of National Defence, Dr. Laurynas Kasčiūnas in Brussels, has signed the Note of Joining – a formal document marking Italy’s entrance into the CRRT as a full member of the capability.

Italy’s participation marks a significant milestone in strengthening EU’s collective ability in hands of PESCO CRRT to prevent and respond to cyber incidents. The country’s expertise will undoubtedly enhance the effectiveness and readiness of the CRRT, thus boosting up EU cyber defence capabilities as well as providing more opportunities to support EU partner nations.

PESCO CRRT now consists of 12 EU Member States: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Poland, Romania, Italy.
